Neil Gaiman and Fully Booked invite you to send your entries to the 1st Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards - a writing contest that the award-winning author/Sandman creator hopes to encourage Filipino "unrealism" in literature. There are two categories: short fiction and comics. For the former, the story must be either science-fiction, fantasy or horror; the latter, the theme is open but all art must be black-and-white. For more details, go to the Fully Booked website. www.fullybookedonline.com
The deadline has been extended to Feb. 28, 2006.
Good luck!

We'd like to invite everybody to join the 1st Philippine Graphic/Fiction Awards sponsored by New York Times bestselling author and Sandman creator Neil Gaiman and Fully Booked. Impressed by all the enthusiasm and books he got during his visit here last year, Gaiman wants to encourage Filipino writing in fields such as fantasy, science-fiction and horror. He told Fully Booked owner that he sees a "strong tradition of realism in Filipino literature; I want to encourage Filipino unrealism."
There are two categories: short fiction and comics. For the former, the story should not exceed 7,000 words and should be either science-fiction, fantasy or horror. For the latter, the theme is open but should not exceed 12 pages and should be in black-and-white.
Top prize for each is P100,000.00. For more details, go to
www.fullybookedonline.com.
Good luck!
