Theater Arts Workshop
April 18 – May 13 2006

CHILDREN'S THEATER 1
(6-8 yrs. old)
8:00 am -12:00 nn - Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Php 4,500

A four-week course designed to allow the development of creative imagination, self- confidence, instill habits of routines and discipline through artistic explorations in rhythmic movement, dance, songs, games, paintings, puppetry, storytelling, and role-playing using various fun-filled creative processes.

CHILDREN'S THEATER 2
(9-12 yrs. old)
8 am-12 nn - Monday to Friday
Php 6,000

A four-week course that allows artistic exploration in music, dance, movement, visual arts, poetry, short story writing, story telling, games, drama, improvisations and martial arts. The course will enrich the children’s life of imagination and inspiration as they grow physically during the summer break. The themes vary from appreciation of one’s self
as a person, appreciation of friends, nature and culture.

TEEN THEATER
(13-15 yrs. old)
1:00 - 5:00 pm - Monday to Friday
Php 6,000

Teen Theater 1 focuses on the use of improvisation in drama, poetry, visual arts, creative writing, music, dance and media . Issues related to growing up, the youth’s role in community building and leadership , the young person’s ideals and ambitions will be the basis of artistic experimentation by the teen participants. Short dramatic presentations will culminate in a final showcase written , performed and directed by the teen participants. Teen Theater 1 aims to equip the adolescent child with skills in effective and creative communication, team work , self-discipline and constructive critical thinking to help the him/her enjoy teenage life and prepare for a responsible adult life.

THEATER ARTS 1
(16 yrs. old and above)
1:00 - 5:00 pm Monday to Friday

An in-depth course on theater arts using the Basic Integrated Theater Arts as its foundation. The course will involve theater production, theater history, theater appreciation, aesthetics and criticism.

BASIC ACTING FOR THEATER
(Adults and Professionals)
6:00 pm -10:00 pm - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Basic Acting is an introductory course on the various approaches to acting on stage as used by PETA. The course will also include lecture-discussions with well-known actors, directors and playwrights on developing the craft of acting for the stage. Scene studies and play analysis will be based on popular Philippine theater classics or translations of well-known Western classics. The course will culminate in a showcase featuring the workshop participants in selected dramatic scenes . Basic Acting is recommended for beginning actors who wish to explore acting as a career.

CREATIVE MUSICAL THEATER
(Adults and Professionals)
6:00 pm -10:00 pm - Monday to Friday
Php 6,500

A fun-filled workshop full of music explorations, this theater course is for aspiring stage performers that have musical inclination and are adept in singing & composing. The course will focus on the elements of music as tools for music analysis and composition, elements of music scoring for stage plays and applications, and the use of local musical forms.

THEATER-IN-EDUCATION (TIE)

Theater-In-Education is a module that uses theater methods and discipline as tools for putting across ideas and content in various academic areas in schools.

TIE Module One
Saturdays: 9:00 am -6:00 pm
April 22, 29, May 6, 13.
Php 2,000

This module will focus on the value of teaching creatively by using drama as a medium for teaching. Exercises will be given on a creative methodology and approaches in the teaching of academic subjects specifically, Pilipino, HEKASI, and Values Education.

TIE Module Two
Saturdays: 9:00 am -6:00 pm
April 22, 29, May 6, 13.
Php 2,000

A module that will focus on Asian Theater: Japanese Theater Traditions, Mask & Movement, Creative Pedagogy & Asian Theater. This focus was planned to coincide with the Asian theme of the MAKABAYAN curriculum of the Department of Education, Secondary School Curriculum.
