Online Essay Writing Contest


ELIGIBILITY
Contest is open to all bona fide college students of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Agribusiness and Fisheries, nationwide.

DURATION AND DEADLINE
The contest will run from February 2, 2007 – March 2, 2007.
All entries must be RECEIVED by 12:00mn of March 2, 2007. The B-MEG webmaster shall immediately close the essay-writing contest portion of the web site and no entries will be accommodated once this deadline has passed.
Determination of winners is on March 22, 2007 for the Regional Level while results for the National Level will be announced on March 29, 2007.

ALL QUALIFIED ENTRANTS WILL RECEIVED A TOKEN OF PARTICIPATION FROM B-MEG.

Essay submissions will be accepted via e-mai only. All entries must be RECEIVED by 12:00mn of March 2, 2007.l

TOPIC / THEME
“The impact of B-MEG on the Filipino livestock raisers, the community and the nation”

The essay must discuss how a Filipino livestock raiser can benefit from a partnership with B-MEG and how B-MEG can have an impact in the community and the nation.
Each entry must follow the topic/theme.

FORM INSTRUCTIONS
1. Essays must be in English.
2. No other information must be included anywhere on any page of the essay except the discussion.
3. Entries must be NO LESS THAN 500 WORDS and NO MORE THAN 800 WORDS.
4. Each essay submitted must be the work of one student and may not be the collective work of more than one student or with the help of a guardian or teacher.
5. By submitting an essay, entrants certify that their essays are original, authored solely by them and that in writing their essay did not plagiarize or otherwise infringe upon the rights of any third parties.

JUDGING
Regional Screening (2 winners each for LuzViMin):
A panel of judges selected by B-MEG will review the qualifying essays and shall select 2 winners each for Luzon, Visayas & Mindanao in the Regional Screening.
National Screening (3 national winners): A second panel of judges will select three(3)national winners from the six (6) regional winners.

Breakdown of Criteria:

The Board of Judges will screen and determine which English entries best capture the essence of the brand and the theme of the contest.
The six (6) winners from the regional level will compete in the national level.
Decisions of B-MEG with respect to the contest are final.
There will be three (3) national winners from the six (6) semi-finalists.
All winners will be notified via registered mail.
Announcement of winning entries will be posted online via B-MEG’s official web site: www.b-meg.com.

RANKING & PRIZES
Six (6) regional winners = PhP5, 000.00 each plus eligibility to compete at the national level plus Php 2000 worth of San Miguel products.

Three (3) national winners
1st place: Php 20,000.00
2nd place: Php 15,000.00
3rd place: Php 10,000.00

RULES / CONDITIONS - Failure to abide by any of these rules and conditions will result in the disqualification of the student's essay from the competition.

Entrants are required to provide truthful information. Entries discovered to be false or fraudulent will be deleted and rejected. B-MEG is not responsible for entries not received due to network service outages or delays, computer difficulties or any other technological glitches, or for lost, stolen, misdirected, late, illegible, incomplete or mutilated entries by e-mail.

Only one (1) entry per student will be permitted.

All entries shall become the property of B-MEG, HENCE, B-MEG IS GIVEN THE RIGHT TO EDIT / AMEND WINNING ENTRIES FOR FUTURE PUBLICATION, and no submissions will be acknowledged or returned. The copyright to the essay remains the exclusive property of the entrant. B-MEG reserves the right not to award a prize or any prizes when submitted entries do not meet contest standards or criteria. There is no substitution or transfer for prizes. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply. All fees and/or costs incurred in winning or to claim the prize and any other expenses not specified are the sole responsibility of the winners. Payment of taxes, if any, is the sole responsibility of the winners. B-MEG is not obligated to absorb a student for full time employment after expiration of his or her internship contract. Employees of B-MEG, or their parent San Miguel Corporation, subsidiary or affiliated companies, their advertising agencies, participating sponsors or promotional partners and the members of their immediate families are disqualified from joining this contest.
