Makati Major, Jejomar Binay sitting on the driver seat in blue.
Seems like he's an all right guy. Electric jeepney doesn't sound so bad-- less pollution, less traffic, and it looks a lot cleaner if not so bold. It would help if you could tell me/us what you don't like about the man. What has he achieved and what has he done that you'd disapprove of him so?
On the other hand, it's not a pleasant thought to be comparing our own politicians to foreign politicians like Obama. It's giving the United States too much credit but, it has become a habit I suppose ... much like they associate Hayao Miyazaki, director of anime, "Spirited Away" to Walt Disney. "Miyazaki is the Walt Disney of Japan." Gosh!!! I'd gag whenever critics say it.

trapo? take it literally and that's it....
in case you don't really know this tagalog word, well it is a piece of cloth used to clean surfaces like floors, cabinets, and walls. It is dirty, and with bad smell, and it is something you wouldn't want seen lying around in any part of your house.
so if a politician is trapo, it means he is dirty, and he deserves to be junked, thrown out.

pwede din naman yun kaso may palusot pa sila (politician) kapag tinawag silang "trapo" literally. sasabihin nila na kaya sila trapo kasi sila ang naglilinis ng "dumi" which is heroic pa daw. pero kung titingnan kasindumi din sila ng "nililinis" nila.
it's just a name coined by some disgusted Filipinos on their way to vote and segregate the lesser evil in the candidates, especially during Cory Aquino's days.

Now that Binay has strenuously declared his intentions to go for the country's top post, what's the polemic about it?
Anyone can aspire for any position in the government, and if that can be done, it only means a triumph of our behemoth democracy.
There are countries in the world where it's a sin to express one's beliefs. But here in our own country, even a monkey can summon, in his own genteel gauge, the government to extricate himself from his predicaments.
Rejoice. It's democracy in action.

No, I don't think we were being personal. :) Jejomar Binay is a trapo, who only won because his opponent was no other than Lito Lapid. The fact that he's being compared to Obama is disgusting too. Of course, since I'm not a Makati citizen, I shouldn't have the right to say anything, but he's declared his desire to run for presidency so, as they say, he's "fair game" now. LOL!
Anyway, who I'd like to see run for presidency is Sec. Ace Durano of the Dept. of Tourism. He's done wonders for Cebu, though I haven't heard anything about his achievements in the DOT. If we're going the trapo route, I'd rather Mayor Sonny Belmonte run for presidency. He's much better IMO. There's also Sec. Lito Atienza. But the election is still far away - in about 16 months - a lot of things could happen.
Anyway, it's my first time to vote so I'm really excited about it. :D

Ewan ko kung tama ang pagkakaunawa ko ha pero ang TRAPO o Traditional Politician, eh sila po yung lagi na lang tumatakbo sa Pultika (na alam mo namang wala gaanong nagawa sa kanilang dating tungkulin sa Gobyerno).
Sonny Belmonte, Lito Atienza and even Lito Lapid are Traditional Politicians. We need a new blood of leaders, sa lahat ng sinabi mo si Ace Durano lang ang hindi.
Eh kasi ayaw natin kay Binay kasi TRAPO sya, tapos ang ihahalal natin TRAPO din, so parang ganun din.

Kunti lang alam ko kay JB. Sa pagkakaalam ko ay nasa opposition siya, at matagal na siyang mayor ng Makati. Di rin kasi ako Makati citizen kaya wala masyadong alam sa political background niya.
Ang naaalala ko lang ay parati kung naririnig ang pangalan niya simula nung elementary pa ako lalong-lalo na scouting movement. Siya kasi ang National President ng BOY SCOUTS of th PHILIPPINES na ilang decada.
Sana lang maging totoo siyang Scout at Lider ng bayan.
Kailanman ay laganap ang mga TRAPO sa ating pamahalaan, mapa administrasyon man o opposisyon. Pati nga mga namumuno ay di-tiyak kung legal na nanalo sa eleksiyon o karapatdapat na mamuno.
Sa ngayon ang mga umaalingaw ngaw na pangalan para sa susunod na Presidetial election ay Villar. Lacson, Fernando, Binay....at hahaba pa itong listahan....
Sus, wag nga sila magbiro!
