The ride had been bumpy --- a chance passenger like me can’t afford to be a chooser for any option on my part had been overrun by the desire to go home.  I sat at the back where it was quite warm and as I said, bumpy.  Potholes and ruts were felt anywhere else, but they are “suffered” --- so to speak, when you get to sit where I had to.

My friend was sighing contagiously the last time we talked. For years, her manner had been so-so, perhaps because of her work, or perhaps because she just didn’t see anything the matter with it --- she was neither happy nor sad. That day, over coffee, I saw a remarkable change in her countenance --- she laughed like a schoolgirl, and her laughs were not throaty in origin, they were those kinds that gave you gas pains later on--- what a sight to behold!

My friend invited me for dinner last night and we chose to eat "where good friends dine".  The place was conducive for excited chatter, especially since we always find a lot to giggle about every time we meet.  Maganda yung lugar kasi hindi masyadong tahimik at hindi rin dumadagundong ang ingay.

She's too sweet and caring and coy, but these lovable attributes though at one time or another have been cute, may have lost their appeal now that she's turning thirty.

Of course, she's the typical accomplished woman who's one of the best in what she does, and she's got sexy eyes and a superior intellect to match, but even these have been seen as possible deterrents to a supposedly healthy lovelife.
