A Long-Ass Rant

Last year, someone from Philippine Animation Magazine emailed the people behind Super Inggo at ang Super Tropa these questions. I dunno what happened to that magazine but about a week ago, a student asked me if I would be willing to do an interview for some class project. I remembered the Philippine Animation Magazine questions so I sent the student this:
Please provide us a brief background of yourself (you may submit a personal portfolio/resume).
I am Randy “Squid” Villanueva and I’m the head writer of Super Inggo at ang Super Tropa. My super power is capturing braingasms and putting them down on paper. By day I am a mild-mannered television writer. Yet when night comes and the Big Kamote of Quezon City is shrouded by the shadow of crime, I turn into an evil-tempered television writer.

Submitted by squid villanueva on December 31, 2008 - 4:16am.Hindi niyo naitatanong, head writer ako ng animated version ng Super Inggo dun sa ABS-CBN (hindi sa nagmamayabang ha?). Nakakalungkot lang na sa galing ng Filipino animators and artists, kakarampot lang ang na-produce na animated shows and movies ng Pilipinas. Ang mahal kasi gumawa ng cartoons e. Yung artists and animators nga namin pumayag sa pay cut kasi Pinoy production naman. Malaki ang pagmamahal nila sa larangang ito kaya para sa ikaaangat ng Pinoy animation nagsakripisyo sila ng malaki.

Holy Shit! More Doodles!

Won't win me any awards but they're not too bad, I think. Some of these drawings are from my sketchbooks when I was still in college, a time when I was more inclined to do stuff without expecting to get paid for it. Others are from my notebooks, which is why you'll notice handwriting peering through the paper from the pages beneath it. Scanner's dead and gone so I took pictures using my webcam instead, thus explaining the shitty quality. Click the pics to view the full images.
