After appearing on Oprah last May 18, with her U.S. debut single, 'Note to God,' by David Foster and Dianne Warren, the song is now #2 on Amazon's Top MP3 Songs  (read the wonderful user reviews -- 5 stars all the way!) and #6 on Apple's iTunes. You make the Philippines proud, Charice! Laughing Find the complete Oprah appearance at YouTube (Oprah's intro, Charice singing, and interview) and Charice singing 'Note to God' at Oprah.com's Media Player. Gave me goose bumps when I first saw it!

Update: TV Patrol feature of Charice's appearance on Oprah can be found on Youtube.

she's getting famous, but

she's getting famous, but she's also getting a bit overconfident.

in one interview, she actually referred to herself as a superstar.

Hi Katya, Which interview

Hi Katya,

Which interview was this? Do you have a link? Thanks.

Sorry kuya Dino, I don't

Sorry kuya Dino, I don't have a link.  I saw it on tv - I think on Balitang America.  Anyway, there was someone who asked her about dating or having a boyfriend, and she replied something like she wants a guy who will like her for who she really is and not just because she's a superstar.   I was a bit disappointed when I heard her say that. Anyway, I'm still a fan and I hope she keeps her feet on the ground and continue to be thankful to the people who have helped her achieve what she has now.

Aok. I wouldn't worry too

Aok. I wouldn't worry too much, Katya. I have to see the interview myself, but based on your story, I'm guessing it was just a matter of linguistic difficulty on the part of Charice. I think she's still learning English -- aside from being only 17 -- and doesn't have yet the linguistic sophistication to say "someone who will love me for who I am," and simply leave it at that.

Besides, I think the true measure of one's humility is in one's actions. If Charice starts treating other people with disrespect then I think that's the only time we can say that she has changed for the worse. A telling incident I guess -- you can search it on YouTube -- was when Charice met Mariah Carey for the first time, and Charice sobbed like a regular fan thrilled by meeting one of of her idols.

Aside from 'Note to God,'

Aside from 'Note to God,' another of my favorite Charice renditions is 'Listen' performed when she was younger. In particular, watch for the jaw-dropper starting at 2:53:
