Devil's Petulance
Devil’s Petulance
The world is a marble on a board game
where every man walking know my name;
And each gets a badge, and wings, and halos,
and each are given heavenly dues.
To me was fire and brimstone,
and still, I keep playing by the rules.
The men of great dignity and fame,
they will all have a taste of my maim
and by that I am fit to dethrone
as I sit and lament to Him and rue:
for to me was fire and brimstone,
and still, I keep playing by the rules
He gave me fire and brimstone
and still, I keep playing by the rules.
"Job"
I like Job. He was the only one making sense of things, but the Good Ol' Man got him right back where he started. It's probably just chance that Job lost all that he had. It has nothing to do with God or the Devil, methinks - but, who knows?
I just think that God is calculative - deals more on chances and randomosity than anything. Say, out of ten people, he picks you. No reason. Just cause he decided to pick you - nothing to do with how great you are, rich or poor, or whatever. It was just chance.
And he decided to let the devil play on you, and you blame God. God is just a number - an idea. He, most likely, does not exist, which is why you cannot blame him for whatever happens to you. That is what the bible is really saying - which is pretty much what the Greeks says, especially Homer in his book, "The Iliad".
I watched a movie last night and it's titled "Year One" with Jack Black. It's not as great as "Monty Python: Life of Brian", but it was entertaining, nonetheless. You should watch it! :)
loved the illiad..
i agree that God is calculative and deals more on chances and randomosity.
He is the Greatest to account for all chances. He's so good at it, it doesn't seem like chance at all.
homer was a genius to come up with something so epic.
the best compliment we ever gave the man was name him after a cartoon character who heads a family in springfield (not bad, if you ask me).
i liked Monty Python: Life of Brian, and Jack Black is one of my fave comedians.
i guess i'll give Year One a try.
tnx! ^_^

reminds me of job..
life is never fair.
shit happens. but we can never use it as an excuse to screw up the rest of our lives.
if evil complains, i guess good is doing it's job.
if that's the case, even the devil reserves the right to be irate.
i'm not sad about it, but i just can't help but smile.
the world is indeed a marble on a board game.
question is: whose side are you on?
i wish i could say i have a halo. if i had wings they'd be half-black.
i can't say if i have a tail and a couple of horns; nor, can i claim i'm walking on the side of the angels. the one thing i do wish for is to fly.
leave a mark in the world and make it good.
nice post. keep it up.
TY, TC & God bless! ^_^
