Enchanted Kingdom, Regal Films tie up in new ride
THERE’S a new attraction at the Enchanted Kingdom (EK) theme park. In partnership with Regal Films, the company will produce the park’s first all-Filipino haunted attraction called Shake, Rattle and Roll: The Experience!!! (SRR:X). Entry into SRR:X is priced at P50.
The announcement coincides with EK’s 13th-year anniversary this month and paves the way for Regal Films’ 10th installment of movie series Shake, Rattle and Roll slated for showing at the Metro Manila Film Festival in December.
EK chairman and president Mario Mamon said in a press conference Monday that “the new addition to the park is our way of offering something new and unique to our park-goers who have always expressed a desire for a scary but fun attraction.”
The SRR:X attraction features “all-Filipino technology, animatronics and materials, as well as all-Filipino lore to entertain our visitors,” Mamon added.
For her part, Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde said she had made her first visit to EK during the groundbreaking of the SRR:X attraction: “It was truly a magical experience being at Enchanted Kingdom. I should go back there more often because it makes me feel so young again. This strategic alliance with EK will bring about Pinoy entertainment at its best.”
“SRR:X!!!” will contain highlights from the past episodes of Regal Films’ horror movie series and will transform the movies’ film experience into a more sensory one,” added Regal Films vice president Roselle Monteverde-Teo.
*Published in the Oct. 15, 2008 issue of Business Mirror newspaper. BTW, the headline is not my bad. I don't write those - my editors do. The newest EK attraction is a semi-permanent walk-through attraction, not a ride.

funny and scary
i wonder if people going to SRR-X would be scared to see the "refrigerator" remake of that episode. i would assume the experience would be funny and scary at the same time.
