ever felt like an old, cheap, remote-controlled toy car?
ever felt like you're living your life as if it was sickeningly mundane; like there's nothing wrong with it but nothing right is happening either; or it's as if you find it manipulated like an old, cheap, remote-controlled toy car. we seldom find ourselves in these situations; oftentimes, shocked to discover we are actually stuck in it.
old, cheap, remote-controlled toy cars have batteries. once drained, they don't run at all. solution? of course, charge the batteries or replace it with new ones that are fully charged. you can compare your life to a sports car and still feel like you're not in control-- like someone else is in the driver's seat. whether your the hand holding the remote control, or the driver behind the wheel, if you're tired and not getting anywhere you want, no offense meant but perhaps you may want to consider changing the driver.
what i'm saying is live and let God. if you need to recharge your batteries, pray. if you're tired of driving, let God drive your sports car of a life. who better to take charge of something as precious as your life other than your creator.
now, if you've done your part and found your prayers unanswered, ask for patience and strength. be careful when you ask God for these two things. these are not acquired in over a night. these are developed over time through tests. ^_^
besides that, spend time w/ those you love. go out with your family and friends. maybe you should go out with your co-workers as well. who knows what you can learn when you just ask your family or friends, "kamusta ka na?" that should give you perspective and at the same time unwind from stress (if not acquire more of it-- joke). ^_^
another thing that you can do (but one of the toughest) is to help people. it can be as noble as signing up for some volunteer work, as simple as being a friend, or as easy as being you. it's hard, for how can you help others if you can't even help yourself? but just like spending time with those you care for. it will give you perspective on whether you should mope about your problem, or feel blessed about living your life.
they say sometimes to live is an act of courage. i guess when we find how unremarkable our lives may be even if we have given it our best, perhaps we should be brave enough to leave everything in the hands of our Creator.
