Fallacious Romance

| |

He painted

love quotes

through pastel colors

in a scented stationery paper.

Ink splattered

like a down pouring rain

making you thoroughly chilly wet

of his lines

which even tenses lied

in front your iris.

All of these

he sealed

in a rainbow colored envelope

(which the other girl

used to own).

And offered

at your doorstep

kneeling

beneath your serious chin

as an elusive

love potion.

First of all the structure...

(1) It should have been "He painted love quotes WITH pastel colors ON a scented stationery." Stationery paper is redundant.

(2) Down pouring rain is redundant.

(3) In "making you thoroughly chilly wet of his lines," you could have said: because of his lines.

(4) There would be no other better word to substitute EYES; not even Iris. "Eyes" is profound and symbolic.

(5) Rainbow-colored envelope is hypenated (?)

(6) Serious chin does not sound serious to me. It's a little funny.

(7) I like the phrase ELUSIVE LOVE POTION since it makes the poem magical.

I really enjoyed this. I

I really enjoyed this. I found your style and wordplay modern, provocative, and original. Although I had to read through twice as the poem is confusing in a place or two.

Also, I liked the form (appearance of the poem on the page.) I can tell you thought about many aspects of this work carefully while writing this, and the impact upon me was a surge of imagery that was both beautiful and romantic.

well! I had difficulty reading the 2nd stanza, I think a quick edit it would make flow much easier.
something like this maybe:

Ink splattered
like pouring rain
making her chilly wet
of his lines tense
in front of her iris

as you see I also changed the "you" to "her" I would throughout the poem.

Seriously! Where are these people?

Kimchi and Karding? These people seem like they care and are being helpful.
