NCCA OPENS COMPETITIVE GRANTS FOR 2011

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is now accepting project proposals for the Competitive Grants Program of 2011. Grants are available for cultural and art groups, academic institutions, individual artists, local arts organizations, non-government organizations involved in culture and arts, and other potential grant applicants. Deadline will be on September 15, 2010.

The 2010 International Writing Program (IWP) Residency is now open for nominations. The objective of this program is to bring together a wide range of international and U.S. writers to examine current trends in literature including fiction, drama, poetry, and screenwriting and to explore the creative process involved in writing. Participants will spend 10 weeks in residence at the University of Iowa presenting their work to local audiences, participating in university level workshops and working with translators.

For the year 2010, the National Arts Month dubbed as Philippine International Arts Festival (PAIF) will have the theme "Ani ng Sining". It will feature the talents and performances of the many artists and arts groups in the seven arts on whose trainings, competitions, and creative expressions it has invested the past year or so.
