One of my favorite poems
Mula sa probinsya, lumuwas, nag-apply,
Pumila, umasa, naghintay, nagdasal
Nakuha sa tyaga, nadala sa lagay
Sa wakas! Natuloy mag-abroad si Juan.
At napabilang sya sa napakarami
Na ang tawag "kuno" ay Bagong Bayani
Bayaning sa airport pa lang ng host country
Suspect na ang turing; ang hinala: guilty.
IMMIGRATION: Baka passport, visa - peke!
CUSTOMS: Baka merong shabu sa bagahe!
Mabusising tanong, inspeksyong maigi
Eh kasi, eh kasi - Pilipino kasi!
Tiwala ng mundo'y maramot sa atin
Kelan tayo tunay na rerespetuhin?
Sa Edsa lang yata tayo magagaling...
Aray ko! Oh Lahing Kayumanggi, Gising!
