Invisible Walls
Invisible Walls
They surround me, these layers of translucent bricks, thicker than an amlan tree or the Walls of China. No, you cannot see it from the moon, the sea, or even when you're standing next to me. You won't even feel the weight of them since they're as light as a feather. You can touch me, hold me, and feel me through these walls, but I can't return that intimacy. No ... these walls forbid it.
I don't know who made them or who decided to place them around me like an asylum made of the ethereal, and yes, such a material do exist.
I do feel, too. I feel warmth, love, and joy; I just can't seem to send them back to those who willingly share them with me. No ... these walls forbid it.
One of these walls once whispered to me, "You must find the one with the Invisible Hammer to break us." I didn't want to believe a word it said since it's the very thing that has kept me from loving in return. Why should I trust it? Besides, that alone is not enough to help me out of this prison. I've seen many pass me by, carrying the Invisible Hammer with them, and each Hammer had a different aura, a different beat.
Yes. The Invisible Hammers sings. They sing like the beating drums; rolling, rolling in the distance like a rumbling thunder in the sky. It's a beautiful music, but I can't tell which one of them is the right one.
I can't even see the aura or the music of these walls from which I suffocate. No ... these wall forbid it.
Sometimes I would wonder if, since one of them did try to help me find my way out, it's just me. Or is it all a game that they play to watch me hopelessly scrape my way out of them like a whimpering dog or a cat, or which ever scenario, pitiful or sympathtic, that you would prefer to imagine me in.
I hope it would whisper to me again and tell me, which of the ones with the Invisible Hammers will complete their song of destruction that I may penetrate through these invisible walls.
The Song of Destruction ... think of it as a key to a door, except that it's an ensemble, and the Invisible Hammer is a missing piece of a musical notation! Improvisational!
I've been waiting for another hint from these walls and while I wait, my heart continue to beat in silence.
