Subject: LAMBANOG, Paolo Herras' 1st full-length independent digital film PREMIERE

Greetings from the producers, cast and crew of
LAMBANOG, Paolo Herras’ 1st independent digital
full-length film. We would like to invite everyone to
watch the premiere on March 11, 2006 at the UP Film
Center. 5:00pm and 7pm screenings. Tickets are 110php
each.

Lambanog is a collection of the intertwined stories of
Mark (Luis Alandy), as he goes back to visit his best
friend Eric (Lauren Novero) in their hometown of Los
Banos, Laguna. He passes by his old home and meets
Rico (John Lapus), the landlord. After, Mark buys a
bottle of lambanog from Maria (Danica Sotto), a
mysterious lambanog vendor. During the drinking
session, Eric introduces his new girlfriend, Hasmin
(CJ Mercado).

Each character has a love story to tell, and when the
alcohol level gets high, it brings out more secrets
than what these characters would want to tell.

Also gracing the film are theater and film actors such
as Raymond Bagatsing, Pinky Amador, Roxanne Barcelo,
Sheenly Gener, Myla Roy and Jon Ocampo.

The film’s setting is by the feet of the mystical
mountain of Maria Makiling. It is this mysticality
and this rustic milieu that coincides with the
Filipino experience of storytelling as magically real
in the film.

Paolo, 24, an M.A. Philippine Studies student at UP
Diliman, is the 3rd Prize winner of Star Cinema’s 1st
Scriptwriting Contest. Currently a part-time faculty
at the DLS-CSB, he is a fellow of the 33rd UP National
Writers' Workshop and the 11th Ricky Lee Scriptwriting
Workshop for film and TV.

Working with him is Assistant Director Caloy Santos,
Director of Photography, Mara Benitez and Katrina
Holigores, Production Manager Ickay Eusebio, Music by
Jed Balsamo Production Designers Eunice Ang and
Shirley Ang and Kristine Balmes, Sound Design by Allan
Hilado and Edited by John Wong. Sponsoring the film
is Bench, Instituto Estetico, UP Film Institute, Pixel
Art Media Production Co. and DLS-CSB.
