Let's Die Somewhere Else
Let's Die Somewhere Else
Listen, my dear
The sirens' call
They're coming for us
Though you may feel
So sad and tired
My love, oh
I feel that, too
Through broken glass
And twisted metals
We should go
We won't perish here
Though it seems
It's already too late
We won't perish here
Let's die somewhere else
Don't close your eyes
No, not yet
We still have to walk
Some more distance
Remember when I said
Through fire and rain
My love for you
Will be the same
Remember when I vowed
To the heavens above
Only to you
I will give my love
Only to you
My love
I solemnly swear
To the very end
Don't close your eyes
No, not yet
We won't perish here
Though your legs
Seem so heavy
My love, oh
I feel that, too
The sirens
They won't make it
On time
Some more distance
My love...
We won't perish here
Some more distance
My love...
No, not here
Any moment from now
Our heavy legs
Will take
No more
And we will fall
And soon
Both of our eyes
Will close
Remember, love:
Whatever happens
To this life or to the next,
(If there ever will be)
Never let go of my hands.

this is the 1st poem that I read during the poetry night.
loosely inspired by Rivermaya's "Ambulansya". this poem is about putting love to the ultimate test, to the very end.
I couldn't write some new poems for the poetry night so I just read 2 not-so-old ones.
hope you enjoy. :D
thanks!
salamat. sayang at hindi tayo nagkausap noong poetry night. next time na lang. :D
I'd love to turn you on...

naalala ko yung poem ni Emily Dickinson - yung Because I could not stop for death...
