MANILA 2120 A.D.

The holocaust has come, wrapping the world in artificial winter. For a moment the earth shone brightly with the fire of the stars; the wrath of the atom bomb. The earth trembled as men scorched the earth with the power of Gods. Prometheus should never have given us fire.

Now we burn.

The date is 2039, the earth is now one vast graveyard. Cities once filled to the brim with life are now silent. Only ghosts prowl the streets, only shadows peek outside the windows. There is no more laughter to be heard. No more tears to be shed. A corpse cannot laugh, neither can it weep.

The great monuments stand in silent vigil. The land weeps radioactive rain; weeping for us, for our folly.Close to five billion souls were lost in a single day. Millions in the cold winter that followed. It was as if hell rose up and in one fell swoop, consumed the earth, leaving death on its wake. Almost stripping the earth of life. Almost.

lol

lol.... a cliche... though I personally like this sentence:Cities once filled to the brim with life are now silent. The brim makes me shudder. Hehe. So far, only this sentence stands out from the cliche.
