JULY

 

July 9

 

            The new set of elected officers of the SIGLA (Sining, Galaw at Awit) Organization attended their orientation and first meeting facilitated by the adviser, Ms. Vaberlie P. Mandane at the Audio Visual Building. The adviser gave them the background of the Constitution, Mission and Vision of the organization. They further gave their suggestions regarding the upcoming activities of the University and the organization’s participation in it.

 

 

July 23

 

            As part of the 40th Foundation Day of Batangas City, all the officers of the College of Arts and Sciences Organizations were entitled to attend and join the parade as an opening of the celebration. Led by the President and the Adviser, the SIGLA officers attended and participated in the said event.

 

 

AUGUST

 

August 4

 

            The President of the College of Arts and Science Council, Hannah Ericka Maralit, called the CAS Organization Officers for the meeting regarding the Acquaintance Party/Conduction of Officers. The SIGLA officers participated in the meeting.

 

 

August 9

 

            The SIGLA was obliged to render a presentation in the flag ceremony as a part of the campus-wide celebration of the Buwan ng Wika. Chosen members of SIGLA rehearsed for thye said activity. They were trained by Mr. Renerio Concepcion, Head of the Filipino Department and was supervised by the Adviser.

 

 

August 13

 

            A planned by the new set of officers, a series of auditions were held at the Main Campus I. These auditions included the screening for music, dance and theatre. The officers wishes to include the new talents in the upcoming one-act play.

 

 

August 14

 

            After the main auditions for the Music category, a voice classification was held afterwards in the Media Center, Audio Visual Building. This activity aimed to classify the new set of singers to their preferred genre.

 

 

August 20

 

            An Acquaintance Party sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences Council was held. The SIGLA officers attended the conduction. Later on, the SIGLA members participated in the party by rendering an intermission number.

 

 

August 23

 

            Chosen SIGLA members were gathered to have rehearsals of the Subli dance. This rehearsals will be used in the competition to be held as a part of the campus-wide celebration of the Buwan ng Wika. They were supervised by the officers and the adviser, since their rehearsals were held on a Sunday.

 

 

August 26

 

            As part of the campus-wide celebration of the Buwan ng Wika, the chosen SIGLA members participated in the Folk Dance Subli Competition as the representatives of the College of Arts and Sciences. The said activity was sponsored by the College of Teacher Education. The CAS Folk Dancers won the Third Place in the said competition.

 

 

August 27

 

            Still part of the campus-wide celebration of the Buwan ng Wika, the chosen SIGLA members participated in the parade around the campus. Later on, they performed the prelude of the National Anthem in the Gov. Sanoy Leviste Gymnasium Main Campus I. They were supervised by Ms. Vaberlie Mandane and Mr. Renerio Concepcion.
