Pick-Up line

“Excuse me, Miss.” a famous and familiar face asked Irma, she was dumbfounded at first but still able to compose herself.

“Is there something wrong?”, she manage to utter.

“Yes,” he said, making her eyebrow raise automatically.

            Okay I may be football fanatics, but I’m not fangirling this moment and I just happen to sit her in the corner and staring at the wall, disturbing the dust.

            “Did I do something illegal?” Irma manages to joke, a sly smile played on his lips.

            “Yeah! You stole something from me.” he seriously said.

            “What?”, Irma said loudly, getting the attention of most people inside the café. Why can’t I just control my voice, every time I get mad? Now people are literally looking at them. “Are you kidding me?.” And unconsciously, cover her face with her long raven black hair.

            “No.” slowly touching her hair, pinning it in her left ear. Irma don’t understand what’s gtten into her, but her face suddenly turned red because of the sudden emotion rushing inside of her. “You suddenly stole my heart and you have no choice but to take me along with it.”he said, now smiling. Her heart suddenly tumbled. A smirk suddenly forms in Irma’s lips.

            “That’s a very old pick-up line Mr. Yannick Tuason, you almost got me there.”she laughed, making the tension between them disappear. “But honestly you gave my heart a somersault.”  Irma said while nodding and trying to hide the redness of her face.

            “Are you blushing?”, Yannick teases, a chuckled came out of her mouth.

            “No.”she said defensively. “The sunlight is just giving a glow.” she said sarcastically. A lopsided grin formed in his lips, making him sexier. Then suddenly sit in front of her. Yannick intensely stare at Irma. She can almost feel the warmth breathing that is coming out of his nose because of his nearness.

            Her mind suddenly went numb. Irma can’t decide weather to move away her gaze or be still and stare back at him. Her mind just sticks with the last idea.

            He moves his face slowly, making her palm sweat. Irma can almost hear the thumping of her heart, in every second that his face go nearer and nearer, her eyes won’t  shut, if this guy going to kiss her, she rather see it than just feel it.

            “Brave girl,” Yannick whispered, making every hair in her body raise. Then he laughed hard, so hard that Irma wants to give this guy a knock on his head.

            “Loco!” she said and without further ado, she stand up and walk-out. “Football players are really conceited.”

            “Hey wait!.” he grabbed her hand firmly, not planning to let it go. “Like I would let you go.”

            “I’m sorry?” confusion is written all over her face, this guy is playing her emotion and she will not allow it. It’s making her mad and the feminist inside of her is coming out. “You may be famous and rich but it does not give you a right to play someone’s emotion, we have the same right and privileges in this so called country, so spare me.”

            “There was a girl that captures my heart, a minute she’s smiling, then suddenly became serious pouting her lips thinking of something that made her forehead grease, later a soft laughed came out in her mouth, making me think what’s so special with the wall that it made her smile.  One day I approach her but my heart almost sank when she just raise her eyebrows at me, I was hopeful when she suddenly utter a word at me, giving out the most ridiculous pick-up line that I’ve heard just to get her attention. She did not know how hard it is for me to control and not to kiss her.” His staring at her while saying those words, he’s smiling but there’s sadness in his eyes. A warm feeling touch her heart, how long has this guy been staring and observing her loca self.

            She smile and touch his right cheek, “Your pick-up line was effective distraction, but I think kissing you would be the best.”

            He smile and claimed her lips.
