Over the past three weeks, I've been busy with creating another sister site to FilipinoWriter.com. Today, I launched the site. It's called PinoyFilm.com, which is primarily meant for Filipino filmmakers and film aficionados.

Seeing the need for a portal for Filipino filmmaking,
I created PinoyFilm.com –
http://www.pinoyfilm.com -- for the past three weeks,
and I think it is now ready to be launched.

So what is PinoyFilm.com? Among other things,
PinoyFilm.com is:

1. An online database of Filipino films (also foreign
films) where you can submit your own films or other
people's films.

2. A place to discuss, review and rate films
(ala-IMDB.com or Amazon.com) especially Filipino
movies.

3. A place where you can talk shop about the art of
filmmaking.

4. A venue to find like-minded people for possible
collaboration.

5. A place to post filmmaking related-ads and/or jobs.

6. A place to post filmmaking events like
auditions/casting calls, screenings, film festivals,
grants, conferences, workshops, etc.

7. A place where you can blog or write a journal about
your filmmaking (and non-filmmaking) activities.

8. In other words, PinoyFilm.com aims to provide a
venue for marketing, introducing, and re-introducing
Filipino cinematic works to local and international
audiences (and distributors, of course :)).

9. And lastly, PinoyFilm.com is whatever you have
always dreamed Filipino Cinema to be. PinoyFilm.com is
your own filmmaking playground. :)
