The Coffee Stains on Receipts
She left him again
alone
just like the other day
and the day before that
and it was like this as far as he could remember.
He learned he should never love a star,
and writers should love writers.
He was in need for readers.
She was in need of attention.
There was a lack in reciprocity -
and all that was left were bitter lines
and tasteless emotion.
They were actors -
fooling themselves.
No.
He loved her.
She loved him.
But they loved each other in some fashion that neither cannot explain
or even appreciate.
And he wrote everything down in receipts -
receipts of coffees
and wasted conversations
and hopes
and dreams.
And he wrote his longing for a reader
- who he loved the most.

hi Adlesirc! salamat sa
hi Adlesirc!

huhuhuhu
sabi nga nila, we love in
sabi nga nila, we love in our own fashion. and that sometimes make life seem unfair.. pero there's something to look forward to. tomorrow will be a better day. :)
"He loved him. She loved
"He loved him.
She loved her.
But they loved each other in some fashion that neither cannot explain
or even appreciate."
- just want to ask your point on these lines. If it's ok..
just as i thought. someone
just as i thought. someone would ask about this. so there it goes, mara. :)
There will be instances that both parties in a relationship love/d each other in a way that they know how - and unfortunately the other cannot appreciate. For example, one may find/look for an "i love you" yet the other sees it in a way that actions are more important than those words. The reciprocity that they are looking for aren't really being shown.
any insight? :)
hello francis
baka you meant to say "she loved him". am i right?
this somehow reminds me of the movie notting hill.
i love the images that you created in this poem.
:)
sabi ng isang local artist about the lesson that he learned from his role in a blockbuster movie, people express affections differently. partners should stop competing as to who loves the other more. conclusion ko: a person might be 99% in love and yet knows how to express his feelings only 50%, as opposed to someone who loves 60% but is able to express her feelings 100%.
i hope i'm making sense...hehe
exactly, yun yung gusto kong
exactly, yun yung gusto kong itanong..is it a mistake in the phrase "he loved him" or dapat bang "she loved him"?
yung dating kasi sakin may two stories, if this is not a mistake.
but overall, the emotion is exceptional.
it was actually a mistake,
it was actually a mistake, mara. correction done though. thank you!
salamat sa pagbasa. i'll try to write good/better poems soon. :)
my bad. it's he loved her.
my bad. it's he loved her. she loved him. correction made. super thank you!
you did make your point though.. wala dapat competition 'who loves more or who gives a lot than the other'.. siguro rin yung image dito sa tula - well at least for me - is that there are people who are expecting something else from people. They want to be loved in a manner that they love. but the reality does not go that way unfortunately...
:)
yah, i also believe on that
yah, i also believe on that scenario. It's really ironic when people really loves a person but can't express it - maybe that's why his or her partner did otherwise to fill that incapability - to make it balanced.

nice
ang lungkot naman... sabayan pa ng background ko dito "I cant find the words to say goodbye" hay. with emotions ang pagkakasulat talaga.
isang malungkot na gabi sa inyo pong lahat!
