to Webster
I want to write about you
But my mind is a thousand pieces
Coherence, a balancing scale
Can you see me, would you see me?
My ordered silence in chaos
I grapple for the fibers of sensibility
Escaped, senses heightened in the core
Every nerve chromosomes your face.
I wish I could call you by name
But my tongue cleaves, a frozen smile.
Perhaps in a billion nights we'll meet again
I'll shed my tears and wear my inhibitions
Maybe then when you smile my wits won't scatter
And we could talk as if we have known forever.
You sat there so near eyes unstaring
Would it be too tacky if I stare back unblinking?
Or if I smile when no one is looking
Would it be too obvious I've eaten my heart?
