To say "if you had only"

would be as pointless and insensitive

as rubbing a raw nerve

at this point when demons

have returned to inflict run of the mill damage

to the innards of this being's

otherwise placid facade.

So what if the being's intent

of preventive maintenance

was as reliable as

a flickering flame in a tropical storm?

What matters now is that

there is nothing here

that the Good Lord cannot undo.

A little chiseling here,

a little jackhammering there,

and the being will in all be good as new.
