What a Wonderful World
What a Wonderful World
I was reading a friend's blog, and him being a Spanish, his English is not what I would call "easy to read." I mean, though my grammars may not be on a par with professional writers; containing typos and sometimes would err in my use of syntax, my writing has a certain flow that the general audience can follow without stopping midway through a sentence.
Well, this Spanish friend of mine is an artist: a comic artist using Anime style, and I agree with what he says about people. He is saying that "Being negative does not make you an intellectual."
It's so true. You talk shit about other people, you stop yourself from growing because by talking shit about other people, you are making a boundary that will keep you from moving forward.
It's not just people, it's politics, too. You have issues with the country? Do something about it. And no more People Power, please. That demonstration has lost its significance. Start something new, for goodness sake!
And that includes negative thoughts about a movie, or whatever. "If it sucks, you don't have to go on and on about it, cause I'm sure people know." And always make sure you know what you're talking about. Research, otherwise, you will make yourself look like a fool.
To be negative is to build a brick wall around yourself. It's better to just see things for what they are than say stuff -- negative stuff like you know what you're talking about when really, you dont.
He also said, "Spend time with people who are positive and not always complaining. That way, you too will stop thinking of negative things."
Yesterday, I went to a buffet at a restaurant in Hiroo, Tokyo, Japan. I joined a group of nice Christians and among them was a French lady married to a Japanese. A member of a PTA in her children's (international) school, she has high opinions that I found "useful" for myself.
She said, "Don't think too much about what you do. Just do it like you have no other choice and something good will come out of it. You think too much, you start to miss out on the best things in life."
She also said what I've thought about for a long, long time, and hearing her, a strong and beautiful woman say them out loud, validate my thought. Now I know that I am on a right track. She said, "It doesn't matter what you do. What really matter is that you do it well: Do your task well, and good things will follow."
I ask too much of everything. I think too much of a lot. Maybe I spend too much time with a wrong crowd. Maybe I pretend to worry about my image, when really, I don't care. It's a high time I start to be happy, join a group of good people -- people who don't complain, just facts, positive and enjoying the present.
So, speaking of enjoying the present, I met a guy yesterday at a Hotel. He is Filipino. Yeah, I know, but I like him. He will be working at the American Base, soon. He called me twice last night after we parted, but I missed his calls and I couldn't call him back. I will wait today. I hope he calls again.
He is nice, kalbo, and sweet ... just a tad bit shorter than I am, though.
Oh! And lastly, you know one of those Americans who appeared in Wowowee? I met him there at the Hotel, too. He didn't seem to think highly of Willy. He said, "That man has a bad, bad temper!" I just laughed.
"Live out your life the way you want it."
I certainly will!
Nice to see you back in here, Dai! :)
Good one...
"It's good to be just plain happy; it's a little better to know that you are happy; but to understand that you're happy and to know why and how and still be happy, be happy in the being and the knowing, well that is beyond happiness, that is bliss."
-Henry Miller
"It's great to hear you happy for a change.
"
I hope he'll call you again too...

Why, thank you Ilyanah!
He called. I was sleeping. I just wished I asked for his email address. I just gave him my phone number. I know that it's him calling me cause it says on my cellphone, "PayPhone" --no number. I hear he doesn't have a real cellphone, it's payphone so it has no real number. He doesn't want to buy a number, yet. I think it's cause he thinks pay-per-call is cheaper. From what I heard, it's a lot more expensive.

hi pmel!
i guess those people were right. being with somebody who thinks negatively is sickening. we actually do have the choice to live our lives happily, though it's usually hard as to try not to give a damn on those things that really push us to complain.
it's been a long long time ago that i got really irritated with willy. good thing i don't watch wowowee anymore.
it's nice to hear that there are nice people around you who think that way. ^^
just live your life the way you want it.
