Wooden Bench Talk
They had the most wonderful romantic relationship. But they don’t know what happened for the past few months. No more sweetness, no more romance, no more spark. It seemed everything was changed by time. They accepted the reality. The relationship was not working anymore so they decided to take the separate ways on that day, on the same date that they had their first kiss few years ago.
And this was also the moment they wished they could read each other’s mind. For they both know, everything that they will say were far synonymous of those words they really wanted to utter. They got not choice as they thought. So they decided to have a seat on the wooden bench in a park, where everything started and eventually would ended.
Girl: I’m breaking up with you. (And it breaks my heart, too)
Guy: I understand. It’s okay. (I will never be okay, I know.)
Girl: Yeah, I think this is the right thing to do. (But not for me and you.)
Guy: Ah, yes. Let’s just save the friendship, can we? (Hope you save my heart, too.)
Girl: Sure. Hope you’ll find your destined girl soon. (Someone I failed to be but I always wanted to become.)
Guy: Then hope you’ll see your Mr. Right, too. (If only I was born to be the right one for you.)
Girl: Hope, you’ll be happy in no time. (I’m going to miss your smile.)
Guy: I wish you happiness, too. (I can’t be happy without you.)
They shared long moment of silence while lovingly staring at each other. A particular question was both running in their minds. Are they really meant to part ways?
Guy: So, this is it? (Please, say no.)
Girl: Yes, I guess, it’s over. (Please disagree).
They stood up and set the last glimpse with each other.
Girl: Bye. See you around. (But I hope not with other girls.)
Guy: Bye. Take care and see you soon. (I’ll be back, hope you’ll wait.)
Then they turned back and walked in opposite direction both sobbing and throbbing. Years passed. They got different lives apart. Though they both have their own relationships, they never forgot each other. They both went back to the place where they used to spend time, where they share their love stories, where they had their first kiss, and where they had their first heartache. They both hoped that someday they would meet again on the same old wooden bench of the same park.
That day happened. They saw each other on a fancy restaurant after few years of being apart. Both they have their new lovers with them. They just look at each other and passed by. They shared similar feeling that they both hide inside their hearts. They missed each other so much.
Few days after, they bumped at on the same park, on the same bench.
Girl: You’re new girl is pretty (How could she made her way to your heart?)
Guy: Yeah, she is. (But you’re still the most beautiful girl I know.) You looked so happy with your guy. (Why do I feel, I want to cry?)
Girl: Yes, I’m happy with him. (But it’s no compare when I’m with you.) So, I bet you know everything about your girl by now. (Like how you know everything about me before.)
Guy: Only the stuffs that count. (I can’t remember what she says when I think of you.)
Girl: Well I hope you do last. (Because we never did.)
Guy: Hope you do, too. (So, what will happen to us now?)
Girl: Well I have to go. ( Before I started to cry.)
Guy: Yeah, me too. (I hope you won’t cry.)
Girl: Bye. ( I still love you.)
Guy: Bye. ( I never stopped loving you.)
And on the second time, they stood up and took the steps going to opposite directions, leaving the old wooden bench with sadness and truth.
